Guanella Pass with Blue
Welcome to another furkid blog + thank you so much for stopping by! Today I wanted to share our absolutely gorgeous fall session with cutie-patootie Blue and her awesome parents! There is nothing quite like fall in Colorado, when the Aspens turn that glorious golden color and nature puts on the most beautiful show. No wonder fall is hands-down our busiest season of the year. So, naturally, when we were planning our session for October, we had to pick a location that puts all of that fall gorgeous-ness on max display. After coming up with some options, they decided on beautiful Guanella Pass near Georgetown, CO. This location is a bit of a further drive, but it is absolutely worth it! The fall foliage is incredible! Here’s a little backstory for Blue:
This gorgeous 4 yo girlie + her furever family met in April 2016 when, on a whim, her soon-to-be momma attended a puppy adoption event for the Colorado Puppy Rescue. When they put Blue (then Velma) in front of her, Blue immediately curled up in her lap + fell asleep. 🥰 She knew right away that this match was meant to be. Raising baby Blue was no easy task, and it took a village. The entire family helped + has grown to love and care for Blue as their own. ❤️ Blue loves her momma to pieces, but her dad is definitely her favorite wrestling buddy. Blue’s true loves are her hoomans, snow, sprinklers, treats, walks + beds. She looks forward to her evening walks when she can chase squirrels and roll in the sprinklers. 🐿💦 In April 2020, sweet Blue was diagnosed with lymphoma and was given a prognosis of about 1 year. She has bravely undergone 19 weeks of chemotherapy + is currently in remission. 🙏🏻 The hope is that she will stay in remission for as long as possible. Blue’s pawrents have loved every moment they’ve had with her + plan to cherish all the moments they have left. Blue has not let the cancer or chemotherapy slow her down and continues to live life to the fullest. We feel so very lucky that we were able to meet sweet Blue and capture her with her fave humans in the gorgeous autumn backdrop. 🍂 It was the perfect afternoon + will 100% go down as one of our most memorable sessions ever. 😍 Blue is so very loved, and it’s so easy to see why. She is the sweetest soul, and we sure fell deeply in love with her. ❤️
If you are looking to do an epic Colorado fall shoot with your dog and with us someday, I do recommend reaching out early, i.e. mid-to-late summer, to secure your spot. Because weekends in the fall at all the fall foliage hot-spots get super crowded with “leaf-peepers”, I also recommend trying to schedule a weekday with us. We can shoot later in the afternoon, but doing it on a weekday will be so much easier and hassle-free. Also, Guanella Pass is just one of our go-to fall foliage locations, so you have other options. If you’re interested in learning more or booking with us, reach out here and let’s get you some gorgeous pics of your furbaby(s)!
