Maverick the Boxer
Hellooooo, everyone! Today I am featuring my gorgeous session with handsome Maverick the Boxer and his beautiful mom, which we did late fall last year at Eisenhower Park in Denver. Maverick’s mom reached out to us, she was looking to schedule a session to capture her handsome boy Maverick and their bond. She suggested a pretty little park near her home, Eisenhower Park, and we were thrilled to go there! The park was not only surrounded by stunning golden fall foliage, we also got some lovely morning sun-rays that peeked through the leaves and made everything so sparkly and even more golden. [If you live in the area, this is a great location for a shoot as it’s not as busy as some of the other larger parks in Denver].
Let me tell you a little about the star of our session, Maverick or “Mav” as his momma calls him! Mav is a 10 year old Boxer. Mav’s mom adopted him from the Maxfund Animal Shelter when he was 3 years old. She was a volunteer there, and Mav was her absolute favorite rescue! While Mav had a troubled puppyhood and was returned numerous times during his stay at the Maxfund, he finally hit the rescue jack-pot when she decided to make him hers forever!
Mav’s mom told us before-hand that he gets a little nervous around strangers at first, but is a total marshmallow at heart. And, she pretty much nailed that description. It took a little time for Mav to warm up to us, but once he did, he was a total sweetie and a charmer!
While Mav had recently had CCL surgery, prior to surgery he was an avid agility dog! He even participated in league every Friday at Paw School. 🙂 How awesome is that?!! His favorite things include napping on the couch, playing with his puzzle toys and going for walks! Me too, Mav! Me too.
We wish Mav and his momma all the very best in the future. We have no doubt this pair has so much happiness and many amazing adventures in their future.
Below are just some of our favorite photos from this session. Enjoy!
