Hi World! I’m Christina, the lady behind the WYTP lens.
Hi there all you awesome peoples! I’m Christina, the lady behind the lens of WYTP. I figured I’d formally introduce myself and my story. As you may have guessed, I’m a pet photographer. What you may not know is the journey it took to get here. While I’m now lucky enough to spend my days photographing all kinds of furry cutie patooties, my days weren’t always so fluffy and sweet. I spent the last 13 years as a litigator practicing insurance defense law. I, like many people, went to law school because that’s what my family expected. I, like many people, had no idea the stressful and life-sapping existence most lawyers live. Also, like most, I racked up a mountain of law school debt just to live that existence. While I lived in Colorado before, and developed my love of photography and got my furbaby Newton here, life took its twists and turns and took me back home to the East Coast. But my love and enthusiasm for photography and furkids never waned. Then, 4 years ago, I decided to take a step toward more creative, heart-warming and fulfilling work. With the help of my amazing husband, John, I started my little pet photography business. I started dedicating my weekends to pursue this dream, shooting pets and their humans every Saturday and Sunday. I was still practicing law full-time, and while I would have liked more free time, I sacrificed those weekends and holidays to make my pet photography business grow and thrive. It didn’t take long for it to be totally worth it. More and more, I became energized by my photography and all of the amazing furkids I got to meet. Rather than another “job”, it was truly (not to be cliche) my passion. Now, 4 years later, I have transitioned furkid photography into my full-time gig and I couldn’t be happier. Not to mention, John and our two huskies (Newton – he’s the gorgeous pup in these photos + Maya) have moved back to beautiful Colorado. I love my Newton and Maya so much and truly can’t imagine life without them. They are my kids, in every sense of the word. And that’s why I connect to pet-parents and pet-grandparents so much. My goal is to to give Colorado pet-parents a wonderful bonding experience that results in gorgeous and timeless photographs that they can cherish forever. Moral of the story? Always celebrate your furkids, never stop dreaming and never give up. You create your own destiny, and I’m so happy mine is filled with furry paws and wet noses.
